Russian special operation in Ukraine
The Russian military successfully completed the launch of a new missile defense system (ABM). This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“At the Sary-Shagan training ground of the Strategic Missile Forces (Republic of Kazakhstan), the combat crew of the air and missile defense forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces successfully conducted another test launch of a new missile of the Russian missile defense system,” the report said.
According to Major General Sergei Grabchuk, Commander of the Anti-Missile Defense Unit of the Aerospace Forces (VKS), the combat crews successfully completed the task, hitting the conditional target with the specified accuracy. The ministry clarified that the missile defense system is designed to protect against aerospace attacks.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense said that the Aerospace Forces destroyed the shops of a defense enterprise that produce fuel and rocket engines for the Ukrainian army. The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) handed over Su-30SM2 fighters and Yak-130 combat training aircraft to the Aerospace Forces. This was reported in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Russia has been conducting a special operation in Ukraine since February 24. Its main goal is to protect the civilian population of Donbass, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
