The Russian Foreign Ministry warned of a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula

The risk of nuclear conflict has increased on the Korean Peninsula. This was stated by Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Burmistrov. According to him, the United States is provoking a war because it has concentrated its forces in the region.

“The rhetoric of North Korean officials about a hypothetical ‘nuclear conflict’ clearly illustrates the sharply increased risks,” Burmistrov said in an interview with RIA Novosti. According to him, Washington has sent strategic assets to the Korean Peninsula.

Burmistrov drew attention to the emergence of a US-South Korean nuclear advisory group, within which South Korea and the US are conducting a dialogue on plans to use the American “nuclear umbrella” in the event of a military conflict with the DPRK. He also noted that US military aircraft began to appear more often in the airspace over the Sea of ​​Japan.

Earlier, China’s deputy permanent representative to the UN, Geng Shuang, said that US exercises near the Korean Peninsula are aggravating tensions and could lead to war. The Korean Central News Agency reported that the DPRK’s nuclear doctrine allows its army to launch a powerful and immediate strike on the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan, reports TV channel 360.
