“The Ambassador of the French Republic to the Russian Federation, Pierre Levy, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, to whom a strong protest was expressed in connection with the discriminatory and openly Russophobic actions of representatives of the French authorities against Russian journalists who are abroad,” the Russian Foreign Ministry told URA.RU. Earlier, a Russian correspondent was rudely refused to participate in a press conference by French President Emmanuel Macron during the G20 summit.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that France thereby violated the principle of freedom of the press. The incident with Russian journalists occurred on September 10. Macron’s security even tried to break the Russian correspondent’s phone, which was being filmed.
