Moscow urges Washington, Brussels and other Western capitals to stop irresponsible games and intrigues around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). This is stated in the comments of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, distributed today, August 15.
“We strongly urge Washington, Brussels and other capitals, primarily European ones, to abandon irresponsible games and intrigues around the Zaporizhzhya NPP and immediately influence the Kyiv authorities to force them to stop shelling the station and its adjacent territories,” the diplomat stressed.
The diplomat drew attention to the statement of a number of Western states spread by the EU Delegation to international organizations in Vienna on August 14 regarding the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP.
“Western countries again descend to outright lies, arguing that the threats to the ZNPP are created by Russia. Obviously, this contradicts the facts that we have repeatedly cited, including within the walls of the Security Council. It is indisputable that the attacks on the station and Energodar are carried out by Ukrainian armed groups acting on orders from Kyiv. These blows continued even as the EU delegates in Vienna were collecting signatures for their statement, instead of decisively bringing down the regime. [президента Украины] Vladimir Zelensky, reveling in his own impunity, – the comment says.
Russia condemns attempts to obstruct the IAEA mission at the ZNPP and will do everything necessary to carry it out, Zakharova said:
“Statements “in the wrong place”, stamped by the European Union for the sake of imaginary political points, are unequivocally perceived by the Kyiv power clique as a go-ahead to create obstacles for the international mission of the IAEA at the ZNPP. We strongly condemn attempts to obstruct this mission. In close cooperation with the agency and its leadership, we will do everything necessary for the IAEA specialists to be at the station and give a truthful assessment of the destructive actions of the Ukrainian side.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that further connivance of the curators of the Kyiv regime from the West in the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is criminal, including in relation to their citizens.
“Further connivance on the part of the Western curators of Ukraine is simply criminal, including in relation to their own citizens. These people, as well as the inhabitants of Russia and Ukraine, will be at incredible risk if the Bandera people do not stop their strikes,” — said in a statement.
