Relations with the new centers of power in the international political arena need to be built by the West on an equal footing. This is stated in the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The report emphasizes that in the objective realities, it is better for Western countries to move away from the destructive course as soon as possible.
“We call on the collective West to abandon its destructive course as soon as possible, to realize the objective realities of a multipolar world, to start building normal relations with new centers of power in the international arena, such as Russia, on the principles of the sovereign equality of states,” says in a ministry announcement.
The Foreign Ministry also noted that Russia calls for adhering to the G20 in the format of an economic forum without incursions into the security sphere. As, for example, was confirmed at last year’s summit of the group, held November 15-16 in Bali.
“We will continue to promote the fulfillment by the G20 of the functions entrusted to it on a mutually beneficial and depoliticized basis,” concluded in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Life wrote that the heads of the G20 finance ministries adopted a statement without points condemning Russia’s actions in Ukraine. They also expressed regret over Moscow’s actions in Nezalezhnaya.
