The Russian Embassy in the United States denied allegations of human rights violations

This was stated in the commentary of the Russian diplomatic mission, distributed on March 21.

“We categorically reject the accusations against our country. We consider them far-fetched and divorced from reality. We call on the American authorities to stop politicizing human rights issues and use it as an excuse to interfere in our internal affairs and the work of Russian competent authorities. We condemn approaches in which the “quality of democracy” is assessed according to Western standards. Russia is consistently following the democratic path, taking into account its historical experience and traditions.”the embassy said.

Russian diplomats spoke out against the implantation of gender-oriented approaches and LGBT themes to the detriment of family values. Also, the Russian embassy pointed out the impermissibility of imposing the cult of consumerism, permissiveness and drug liberalism, and noted that Russia does not impose its views on others.

According to Russian diplomats, the publication of the State Department report on the 20th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq looks like “Cynical and hypocritical.”

“Those events are a stark reminder of how the American authorities have demonstrated a complete disregard for fundamental freedoms, the norms of the UN Charter and international law. Today, official Washington allows itself to criticize the human rights situation in other states. By the way, we didn’t find a section on the USA in the mentioned report”– emphasized in the Russian embassy.
