According to the ministry, the Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to carry out tasks in Nagorno-Karabakh. The military is monitoring the situation at 30 posts, controlling the ceasefire.

It was violated on March 24 in the Martuni region. As a result of the emergency, no one was injured, peacekeepers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

“A unit of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, in violation of <…>, crossed the line of contact between the parties in the Shusha region, occupied a height marked <…> and proceeded with the engineering equipment of the post,” the Russian Defense Ministry specified.

They added that they brought to the Azerbaijani side the demand for the need to comply with the trilateral agreements reached by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin, as well as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The military was required to stop the construction of engineering communications and withdraw units to their previous positions.

Earlier, Pashinyan recalled that according to tripartite statements, it is Russia that is the guarantor of the security of Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the Prime Minister of Armenia, he has not yet planned to hold meetings with the President of Azerbaijan.
