In the Industrial district of Perm, residents consume water from a spring located near industrial enterprises. There is no control over the composition of the water in the spring. The regional prosecutor’s office reports this on its website.

“It has been established that the water supply of the Subbotino microdistrict is carried out through a spring originating in the area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe street. Leonova. At the same time, water from the source to the place of water intake was supplied intermittently; there was no information that consumer control was being exercised over the composition of the water. The quality of consumed water is negatively affected by industrial production located nearby,” the Perm Territory Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

The supervisory agency also draws attention to the fact that the area around the spring is littered with tires, and a sanitary protection zone has not been established. The prosecutor’s office appealed to the court with a demand to oblige the district authorities to “organize a standard water supply in the microdistrict.” The administration of the Industrial District has six months to implement the court decision.

Previously, Perm residents were repeatedly warned that consuming water from springs in Perm was dangerous to health. This was noted by Rospotrebnadzor and the city department of ecology and environmental management. In 2016, residents of Perm fell ill with hepatitis A en masse. All the sick people took water from a spring, which is located in the Vodniki microdistrict.
