The prosecutor of the Novosibirsk region assessed the impact of migrants on the level of crime

The prosecutor of the Novosibirsk region, Alexander Buchman, refuted the stereotype of an increase in the level of crime due to the influx of migrants.

According to Buchman, the degree of negative influence of migrants on the criminal situation in the region is greatly exaggerated. Thus, out of about 15,000 crimes recorded in the Novosibirsk Region in 2023, only 276 cases were committed by migrants. This is less than 2%, and from year to year this figure is stable, reports sib.fm.

However, the problem of fights between migrants should be dealt with more effectively. A roadmap for the decriminalization of the Khilok market has already been approved. The prosecutor’s office made two submissions to its owners about the insufficiency of the measures taken. Preventive work continues to curb such violations of public order.
