The meeting of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev with the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Rashid Nurgaliev took place on March 17 in Moscow.
During the meeting, issues of international and national security were discussed, Gagloev’s press service reports. They also discussed the situation in Georgia, which escalated last week due to the actions of the radical opposition.
“The parties discussed the current situation in Georgia. Attention was also paid to identifying the most promising ways to expand Russian-South Ossetian cooperation, which were previously discussed at the meeting of the presidents of Russia and South Ossetia”, – the message says.
Gagloev also met with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia today Dmitry Kozak. They discussed the implementation of the Program for the socio-economic development of the Republic of South Ossetia until 2025 and the attraction of investments in the republic.

At the rallies in the following days, the protesters demanded, among other things, a change of power in Georgia, as well as the “return” of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The authorities agreed to the demands of the radicals and withdrew the project on March 10. For Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the change of power in Georgia means the beginning of a new war against them. The opening of a second front against Russia since the beginning of the NMD in Ukraine has been demanded of Georgia by its Western partners.
