The Pakistani minister said that the first batch of oil from Russia will be delivered in early April

Pakistan will start importing Russian oil in early April, Musadik Malik, Minister of State for Oil of the Islamic Republic, said. According to him, which leads The Express Tribunethe first batch of crude oil from Russia will be delivered to Pakistan in the first week of April.

Musadiq Malik noted that due to the “bad policy of the former regime”, inflation in Pakistan has increased significantly. He expressed hope that prices in the country will be corrected after the start of Russian oil supplies.

On January 20, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergey Mochalnikov announced the achievement of “conceptual agreements” on the supply of Russian oil and oil products to Pakistan. Islamabad expects imports from Russia to meet up to 35% of Pakistan’s crude oil needs in the future.

Moscow and Islamabad are also continuing discussions on the construction of the Pakistan Stream gas pipeline, which will link LNG receiving terminals in the ports of Karachi and Gwadar in southern Pakistan with power plants in Kasur district in the north of the country.
