The number of deaths in road accidents with drunk drivers in Russia decreased by 7.9% in 2022

In Russia, the number of deaths due to traffic accidents with drunk drivers has decreased over the past year. According to TASS with reference to the Main Directorate for Road Safety (GUOBDD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, this indicator decreased by 7.9% in 2022.

“According to the results of last year, the number of accidents involving drivers with signs of intoxication decreased by 8.2% and amounted to 14,428. 3,560 people died in these accidents, which is 7.9% less than a year earlier. the state of intoxication was established, decreased by 8.3%,” noted in the department.

Decreased on the roads and the number of accidents in which drivers refused further medical examination. The number of drunk drivers has also decreased. In total, 535 thousand such cases were recorded last year. The department also reminded about the inadmissibility of drunk driving and stressed that traffic police officers conduct daily raids necessary to identify violators.
