The coronavirus vaccine will appear in the Sverdlovsk region no earlier than October. The regional Ministry of Health told URA.RU about this.
“The vaccine against COVID-19 is expected on our territory no earlier than October, which is due to the organization of procurement. Currently, this supply is carried out and organized at the expense of the regional budget,” the press service explained.
The vaccine will be intended for people at risk:
- persons over 18 years of age who have not previously been ill and (or) not vaccinated against a new coronavirus infection;
- citizens aged 60 years and older;
- with chronic diseases, including diseases of the bronchopulmonary system, tuberculosis, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and obesity;
- patients with primary or secondary immunodeficiencies, including HIV infection, autoimmune diseases, oncological/hematological diseases.
Earlier, immunologist Nikolai Kryuchkov said that a surge in the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia could begin in early October. According to his forecast, the wave will peak in mid-November. It also became known that from September 18, city hospital No. 40 in Yekaterinburg was closed for quarantine due to coronavirus.
