The Russian Ministry of Finance has prepared a bill allowing the sale of alcohol in duty free shops at airports to passengers who fly domestic flights. About it reported on the website of the department.
“The document proposes, until June 30, 2026, to allow the retail sale of alcoholic beverages by owners of duty-free shops in stores located in the waiting rooms for domestic flights and in the baggage claim halls of Russian airports with the establishment of special requirements for such sales,” the message says.
The department believes that such a measure will support the operators of international airports in the Russian Federation and owners of duty free shops that have suffered losses due to the coronavirus pandemic and sanctions imposed by unfriendly countries.
