The German authorities have prepared another package of weapons for Kyiv for a total of 2.7 billion euros, the press service of the German Defense Ministry reports. Thus, Berlin officially confirmed the publication of the journal Der Spiegel.
According to the agency, the list of equipment planned for delivery will include 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 30 Leopard 1A5 tanks, four Iris-T SLM air defense systems, as well as howitzers, ammunition and armored vehicles. At the same time, the Germans will hand over 200 reconnaissance drones to Kyiv.
“By making this contribution, we demonstrate that Germany is seriously helping [Украине]“, — the words of the head of the German Ministry of Defense Boris Pistorius are quoted in the statement.
As specified, the equipment and weapons will be sent to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the coming months. According to journalists, this is the largest package of military assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of hostilities.
