The Ministry of Defense gave volunteers the right to free travel in public transport

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu signed order on the provision of free public transport for members of volunteer formations. The document concerns rail, air, water and road (excluding taxis) transport.

Volunteers can use the right to free travel only for trips to the location of the volunteer formation, as well as in connection with the performance of the tasks of these formations. It is possible to go to places of treatment or medical rehabilitation free of charge.

The right arises during mobilization, martial law, in wartime, during armed conflicts, during counter-terrorist operations and when using the armed forces of the Russian Federation abroad. The document defines the categories of citizens who can use public transport for free, depending on military ranks.
