The Ministry of Construction plans to introduce rules for the construction of wooden houses up to 12 floors by the end of the year

By 2024, the Ministry of Construction intends to amend the construction standards for the construction of wooden high-rise buildings. It is expected that the rules for the construction of such houses up to 12 floors will be implemented, a representative of the department said. “Izvestia”.

In 2023, various experiments and studies are planned regarding the construction of wooden houses. The department noted that CLT Development Group of Companies is developing the first such projects. Among them are hotel complexes in Moscow, the Moscow and Irkutsk regions, in Karelia and the Caucasus.

The ministry believes that buildings made of wooden CLT panels can be erected in almost any climatic conditions in Russia. The material can withstand high loads and is durable for load-bearing structures. At the same time, the construction speed is 2.5 times higher compared to the “classical reinforced concrete technology”.

President Vladimir Putin in February instructed from this year to begin using low-rise factory-made wooden houses to resettle Russians from dilapidated housing. In his opinion, it is necessary to apply more widely the technologies of wooden housing construction, to use standard designs of buildings in compliance with safety requirements.
