The administration of the Belozersky district was obliged to remove a landfill near the local regional center and equip a liquid waste collection site. On the site, which was listed as agricultural land, there was a landfill with an area of 1.2 hectares. URA.RU was told about this by the Rosselkhoznador administration for the Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions.
“On an area of 1.2 hectares there is a household waste dump and liquid household waste is drained.<…> [удовлетворено] a statement on assigning the responsibility for eliminating identified violations of the requirements of environmental and sanitary-epidemiological legislation of the Russian Federation to the administration of the Belozersky municipal district,” the department’s press service reported. Violations in the field of environmental protection were discovered during a land inspection last May.
Local residents poured liquid waste into a small lake and stored garbage nearby. The authorities did not respond to the landfill growing in the field. To eliminate the violation, the prosecutor filed an application with the court.
The court recognized the violation and ordered the mayor’s office to clean up the landfill and equip a liquid waste collection area in accordance with epidemiological standards. The authorities were given until January 1, 2026 to do this.
Earlier, URA.RU reported that residents of the Kurgan city of Shadrinsk discovered a pond with feces in the city. They blamed one of the local enterprises for the appearance of the sewage pond.
