Five residents of the Sverdlovsk region are in captivity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was stated at a meeting with trade union activists by the mayor of Krasnoturinsk Alexander Ustinov.
“Five of our guys: three Krasnoturians and two Karpins are in captivity [ВСУ]. They called from there, talked with relatives. Thank God, pah-pah-pah, everything is fine with them. They feed with dignity, they even give cigarettes, ”Vecherniy Krasnoturinsk quotes Ustinov.
In early January, the Sverdlovsk Ombudsman Tatyana Merzlyakova said that five Sverdlovsk residents remained in captivity. Whether these are the ones Ustinov spoke of is unknown.
Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, its goal is to protect the civilian population of Donbass, demilitarization and denazification.
