In Riga, a monument to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was demolished, which was installed in the Kronvalda park. According to the portal LSM.lvat night the sculpture was transported to a warehouse in order to later transfer it to the museum of the Union of Artists of Latvia.
According to the publication, the decision to demolish the monument was made due to the fact that in 2009 the Council for the Preservation and Development of the Historical Center of Riga and the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Cultural Monuments did not approve its placement in Kronvalda Park, recommending that they choose another place.
