The list of extremist materials for which fines will be expanded

The list of extremist materials, the distribution of which will result in administrative liability, will be expanded. The relevant law was adopted by the State Duma in the second and third readings during the plenary session.

Now administrative responsibility is provided for the mass distribution of extremist materials included in the published federal list, as well as for their production or storage for the purpose of mass distribution.

The proposed norms suggest that it is also necessary to hold accountable for the mass distribution of extremist materials specified in the law “On countering extremist activity”, as well as for their production or storage for the purpose of mass distribution.

In particular, such materials include the works of the leaders of the National Socialist Workers’ Party of Germany, the Fascist Party of Italy, speeches, images of the leaders of groups, organizations or movements recognized as criminal in accordance with the verdict of the International Military Tribunal for the trial and punishment of the main war criminals of the European Axis countries ( Nuremberg Tribunal).

Also, a bill is being prepared for the second reading in the State Duma, according to which it is proposed to classify cartographic and other images and products that dispute the territorial integrity of Russia as extremist materials.
