The soloist of the Sverdlovsk musical group “Kurara” will challenge the decision of the Kirovsky District Court, which fined the artist 40 thousand rubles for discrediting the Russian army. This was told by the lawyer of the musician Georgy Krasnov.
“The decision to recognize [Ягодина] guilty we will appeal. We hope that the Sverdlovsk Regional Court will make a more balanced and fair decision,” the lawyer said.
Yagodin admitted that 40 thousand rubles is a significant amount for him. However, the musician added: “Happiness is not in money.”
Yagodin was found guilty of discrediting the Russian army participating in a special operation in Ukraine for statements made by the musician at a concert during the Ural Music Night festival. Yagodin himself did not admit guilt and considered that there was nothing illegal in his words.
The special operation in Ukraine began on February 24 after increased shelling of the territories of the DPR and LPR by the armed forces of Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to carry out demilitarization and denazification to save the lives of civilians in the DPR, LPR and Russia, since there was no other way to stop the aggression of Ukraine, the Russian authorities said.
