Supervisory authorities found no signs of destruction of the dam in the village of Stary Biser, Gornazovodsk District (Perm Territory). A source in the local administration, familiar with the resolution of the visiting commission, told URA.RU about this.
“It was indicated that there were no signs of dam failure. There is no threat of flooding in the village of Stary Biser. The crest of the dam is in satisfactory condition, but the lack of a solid road surface leads to the formation of ruts. The work on filling the left bank part of the structure, carried out in the fall, was considered sufficient,” explained the interlocutor of the news agency.
The document states that the contractor does not use heavy equipment in the work to clear the pond on the Biser River. When removing sludge deposits, vehicles are half loaded. The district administration is recommended to install road signs in the area prohibiting trucks from driving in this direction. The contractor was required to fill the slopes where vehicles pass with crushed stone.
The signal that this structure could collapse, resulting in dozens of houses being washed away by water, was received by the editors of URA.RU at the end of October. The source claimed that instead of 10-ton KamAZ trucks, 25-ton vehicles were driven into the territory, and clearing was being carried out with excavators. The work is performed by Podvodspetsstroy LLC. The company is considered close to the former deputy of the regional legislative assembly Sergei Panteleev, who in turn was an ally of the ex-governor of the region Oleg Chirkunov.
