Founder of Wildburyies Tatiana Bakalchuk appealed to officials with a request to postpone state regulation of the industry and spoke about plans to increase the openness of her marketplace.

According to the entrepreneur, state regulation can slow down the development of the industry in Russia.

“We ask you to really postpone this story, because <...> where state regulation appears, growth stops there,” Bakalchuk said during her speech at the Russian Retail Week 2023 forum.

According to the head of Wildberries, the company intends to increase its openness and work on the development of communication with partners, the media and other stakeholders. She also noted the importance of industry self-regulation.

Earlier, representatives of the marketplace announced that they would return all the money debited from sellers for “using gray advertising schemes.” The company noted that suppliers have become victims of fraud.
