On International Volunteer Day, Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov visited the new creative space of the Center for Youth Initiatives in Protvino, where volunteers work to provide support to participants in the special operation. This was reported by the press service of the head of the Moscow region.

“Today is your holiday – International Volunteer Day. Once again I want to thank you, I am sure that you set an example for both your classmates and all young people,” Andrei Vorobyov addressed the volunteers. He emphasized that in the Moscow region more than 40 thousand caring citizens are engaged in volunteer activities, and these are people of different ages, the governor added. During the visit, Vorobiev got acquainted with the activities of local volunteers and even helped them in the production of dressing bags.

Volunteers from the Center for Youth Initiatives in Protvino are implementing several projects aimed at supporting SVO participants. For example, they make camouflage nets, trench candles, crests, dry souls, and dressing bags.

Volunteers also help young families, minors and other categories of citizens: they provide psychological and legal assistance, prepare young people for family life, and help with employment. In just one year, the Center for Youth Initiatives organized over 180 events.

Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the volunteers for their contribution to the SVO and the help of its participants. Noting the achievements of citizens, he called Russia a country of volunteers.
