The head of the Ministry of Health called the alcoholization of the population a problem that needs to be solved

Alcohol is a threat to the life and health of citizens, said the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko. This is how he commented on the situation with mass poisoning with surrogate cider in Russia.

“Alcoholization of the population is a problem that needs to be addressed. And everyone should be aware of it, including for their children, teenagers, so that they are not involved,” says Mr. Murashko (quoted by TASS).

The minister clarified that it is also necessary to fulfill the requirements for the sale of alcohol. “This, of course, is exclusively in the field of criminal law. I think that the competent authorities will deal with this situation,” Mikhail Murashko added.

Mass poisoning with the drink “Mr. Cider”, produced by the Samara LLC “Andi”, has been recorded since June 5. The drink was seized in 11 regions of Russia. As of June 8, according to the Ministry of Health, 31 people died and 101 were injured as a result of cider poisoning. The drink contained impurities of ethyl butyrate and methanol. The owner of the manufacturing company, Anar Huseynov, was accused of providing services that did not meet safety requirements (part 2 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and arrested, he pleaded not guilty.
