The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, put under control the verification of the situation regarding the improper maintenance of the monument in Kasly (Chelyabinsk region). The department’s press service reported this on its Telegram channel.
“There are reports on social networks about the improper maintenance of the monument to Kasli soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War. The pedestal, retaining wall and tables with the names of heroes are in deplorable condition,” the department’s press service said.
The memorial is a cultural heritage site. Bastrykin instructed and. O. the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Chelyabinsk region, Alexey Kolbasin, to present a report on the result of the inspection and the decision made based on its results.
