Asian cinema is not close to the Russian audience, because of this it will not be able to quickly occupy the niche of Western cinema. This opinion was shared by the General Director of Comscore in Russia, a member of the Board of the Association of Cinema Owners Roman Isaev, reported IA NSN.
According to the specialist, interest in such films may grow if Hollywood films do not return to Russian screens. However, now cinemas do not make big bets on films from Asian countries.
“The spectator mentality that has been formed over decades cannot be changed at the snap of a finger. The viewer, as he watched this movie in an extremely limited niche format, will continue to watch it,” Isaev explained.
