The head coach of the Chelyabinsk hockey club “Traktor” Anvar Gatiyatulin was fired on October 4, 2023. The decision was made after the team’s home defeat.

“Anvar Gatiyatulin has been dismissed. The decision was made after a home defeat from Ufa’s Salavat Yulaev with a score of 0:4,” reports the telegram channel “HC TRAKTOR | OFFICIAL.”

The club telegram channel notes that a replacement has already been found for Gatiyatulina. His duties will be temporarily performed by Alexey Zavarukhin, who was previously an assistant head coach. Zavarukhin was born on October 30, 1980 in Chelyabinsk, he is a graduate of the Traktor hockey school, and was a forward. He spent almost his entire professional career at Traktor.

Almost a month ago, on September 11, the head coach of Traktor HC left the club’s board of directors. It was reported that he did this on his own initiative.

Gatiyatulin, 47, has held the post since May 4, 2020. He also led the team from 2015 to 2018. The club returned head coach Gatiyatulin in 2020 on the initiative of Governor Alexei Teksler, who at that moment began to restore order to the finances and structure of the club.
