The Ukrainian military fired at the checkpoint “Krupets” in the Rylsky district of the Kursk region, said the governor of the region Roman Starovoit. The incident happened at 7:30 am and there were no casualties or damage.
“Our border guards suppressed the attack with return fire,” Starovoit wrote in Telegram.
Against the backdrop of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the authorities in the border areas regularly report shelling of their territories. In the Kursk region until June 22, the “yellow” level of terrorist danger is in effect. At the end of May, the Ministry of Defense deployed additional troops and artillery to the region.
