The Government of the Russian Federation approved the introduction of mandatory labeling for children’s water

The Government of the Russian Federation approved the introduction of mandatory labeling of water for baby food from September 1, 2023. About it writes news agency “RIA Novosti”.

The relevant decree requires the participants in the circulation of packaged water to apply a special marking on the product and provide data to the monitoring information system from September 1, 2023, as well as information on the circulation and withdrawal of the specified packaged water from March 1, 2024.

Deputy General Director of the Chestny Znak operator – Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) Revaz Yusupov said that more than 60% of manufacturers have already equipped their lines with the necessary equipment. According to him, digital marking will significantly complicate counterfeiting and falsification of products, and facilitate the identification of violators.

Earlier it was reported about the intentions of the authorities to limit the sale of single-use plastic near Lake Baikal. The reason for the need to introduce such a measure is the deteriorating environmental situation around the reservoir.
