The government of Belarus said that 20% of pensioners continue to work

One fifth of Belarusian pensioners continue to work after reaching retirement age. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus
Marina Artemenko.

The deputy minister said that pension reform has been completed in Belarus: the retirement age for women is 58 years, for men – 63 years.

“Behind this step is an increase in the active working period of life and the opportunity for the employee to remain in demand at the workplace for a longer time, retrain, and continue career growth,” said Marina Artemenko.

She noted that about 20% of the total number of pensioners continue to work in the country’s economy after reaching retirement age.
