The German Ministry of Economics confirmed that the head of the department, Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck, actually spoke on the phone with Russian pranksters Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Alexey Stolyarov). The German newspaper Bild reports this.

“The Federal Ministry of Economics confirmed that such a conversation took place. In a telephone conversation, the caller introduced himself as a representative of the African Union,” the report says. The agency will analyze the recording to strengthen security standards.

The German Ministry of Economy noted that confidential information was not disclosed during the conversation. The department also clarified that the recording of the conversation is a compilation.

Robert Habeck fell for the trick of Russian pranksters on December 5th. During a telephone conversation, he said that he plans to resume the grain deal. Habeck also said that, in his opinion, the conflict in Ukraine will last at least another year.
