During the online summit, the G7 countries expressed their desire to build constructive and stable relations with China. With the help of this cooperation, they hope to put pressure on Russia on the issue of resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
“We are committed to building a constructive and stable relationship with China, recognizing the importance of frank engagement and direct expression of our concerns. We call on China to put pressure on Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine,” RIA Novosti reports the results of the meeting of the G7 countries.
Along with announcements of cooperation, G7 countries plan to reduce dependence on China in various supply chains. At the same time, the approaches and political methods of the G7 will not interfere with the development and progress of the PRC.
European leaders are also concerned about Beijing’s export of dual-use goods to Russia in circumvention of sanctions. They fear that China may supply body armor and drones to the Russian Federation. However, the EU has no evidence of such deliveries.
