The FSB detained a resident of Divnogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, on suspicion of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the intelligence service, the man provided the SBU with information about the location of military units and energy infrastructure facilities, RIA Novosti reported.
According to the FSB, he corresponded with SBU officers through the messenger. For a reward, he allegedly handed over geographic coordinates and photos of military units of the Ministry of Defense located in the region and critical energy infrastructure facilities.
The video provided by the FSB shows a man stated, that “a little more than six months ago, representatives of the SBU approached him and offered to cooperate.” He took pictures for them of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station and the nearby part. How much money he was promised for the task is not specified.
In April, President Vladimir Putin signed a law that introduced life imprisonment for treason. This law also tightened liability for terrorism.
