The former Minister of housing and communal services of the Rostov region received a real term for violations in the improvement of parks

The Kirovsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict to the former Minister of Housing and Public Utilities of the Rostov Region Andrei Mayer. The ex-official has been sentenced to three years and five months in a penal colony, a Kommersant correspondent reports from the courtroom.

Andrei Mayer was found guilty of two episodes of abuse of power. According to investigators, he committed violations in the allocation of budgetary funds for the improvement of the Veresaevo parks in Rostov and the city park in Zverevo. The damage was estimated at 89.5 million rubles.

The former minister does not plead guilty, his defense intends to appeal the verdict.
