The Tugulymsky District Court found the ex-mayor of the Urals District Sergey Selivanov guilty in a case of bribery and abuse of power. The man received 8.5 years in prison, according to the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Sverdlovsk region.
“The court sentenced the former head of the Tugulymsky urban district, Sergei Selivanov, to eight years and six months in prison in a strict regime correctional colony,” the department noted.
The investigation found that in January 2016, for his patronage, the official received a bribe every month from the director of the MKU “Administrative and Economic Department of the Tugulym City District”. For three years, about 2 million rubles were transferred to the defendant. In addition, Selivanov used telephone services and the Internet at the expense of the city budget.
