The former “daughter” of Sberbank in Kazakhstan was excluded from the US sanctions lists

The US Treasury Department announced the exclusion from the restrictive lists of the former subsidiary of the Russian Sberbank, located in Kazakhstan, writes RIA News.

The report published by the US Department says that Bereke Bank has been withdrawn from sanctions. In the documents, it is listed under four different names: as “Subsidiary Bank of Sberbank of Russia”, SB SBERBANK, “Subsidiary Bank of Joint-Stock Company Sberbank of Russia” and TEXAKABANK. It belonged to Sberbank from 2006 to 2022, for which restrictions were imposed, the TV channel clarifies. “Saint Petersburg”.

In early February, it became known that Kazakhstan’s Bereke Bank, formerly Sberbank Kazakhstan, expects US sanctions to be lifted in March, as Russia’s Sberbank withdrew from its shareholders. In addition, the financial institution has changed ownership and is wholly owned by the Baiterek National Management Holding, whose shareholder is the government of Kazakhstan.
