The Foreign Ministry recognized the decision of Latvia to stop issuing visas to Russians as Russophobia Lisitsyn Lisitsyn

Latvia’s calls to stop issuing visas to Russian citizens are contrary to international law. This is stated in a statement published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“We are considering the statement of the Latvian Seimas calling for a halt to the issuance of tourist visas to Russians as another manifestation of Russophobia, which has long become the “tuning fork” of Latvian foreign policy,” the statement said.

The department believes that such actions by the highest legislative body of Latvia violate the principle of sovereign equality of states. This point is written in the UN Charter.
