The Israeli Ambassador to Moscow, Alexander Ben Zvi, was informed that statements by Israeli representatives against Russia are unacceptable. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
What specific statements are being referred to is not specified. “As for the statements made by Israeli official representatives regarding Russia, this is unacceptable, and the Israeli ambassador in Moscow has been informed about this,” Ms. Zakharova said on Soloviev Live (quoted from TASS).
Relations between the two countries have worsened amid Israel’s war with Hamas. On October 26, Hamas Politburo member Abu Marzouk visited Moscow and held talks with Russian diplomats. The Israeli Foreign Ministry called this visit an unworthy step on the part of the Russian authorities. Last week, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that Israel has no right to self-defense. To this, Israeli permanent representative Gilad Erdan responded that Russia is “the last one who will teach” the country international law.
