The evacuation of Russians from the Gaza Strip will take a maximum of three days – Kommersant

Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov said TASSthat the evacuation of Russians from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint to Egypt will take no more than three days. According to the diplomat, today, November 10, the checkpoint was blocked, so foreigners were not allowed out of the Gaza Strip.

“Today we hoped that the process (of evacuation) had begun.— “Ъ”), and that it will be carried out clearly and in a sustainable manner, but, unfortunately, a problem has arisen that we are now solving,” Mr. Bogdanov told the agency.

Rafah Online, an information portal covering the situation at the Rafah checkpoint, reportedthat today the passage of foreigners and Palestinians with dual citizenship into Egyptian territory was not carried out due to “a lack of coordination on the issue of the delivery of wounded Palestinians from the northern part of the Gaza Strip.”

The deputy head of the Foreign Ministry told TASS that the problem of removing the wounded through checkpoints should not be linked to the removal of civilians with foreign passports. He said that the Russian Federation is discussing a solution to the problem with Israel, Palestine and Egypt.

Earlier today, a list of foreign nationals who were allowed to leave the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing on November 10 was published on Rafah Online. There are 85 Russians on the list. Later, two special aircraft arrived in Cairo to evacuate Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip. According to the Russian diplomatic mission in Palestine, there are more than 500 Russian citizens in Gaza, about 300 of whom are minors.
