The dyer was charged in absentia in the case of fakes about the army

Media manager Ilya Krasilshchik was charged in absentia in the case of fakes about the Russian army (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He was also toughened the charge – on part 2 of this article of the Criminal Code instead of part 1, reported his lawyer Sergei Badamshin.

“Well, the article was made heavier for me here, because I am a public person who feels hatred, created a real threat in the society of a negative attitude towards the armed forces of the Russian Federation,” Mr. Dyer wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) .

According to part 1 of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code (public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the armed forces of the Russian Federation) provides for a maximum penalty of three years’ imprisonment. Under part 2 (the same actions, but committed using one’s official position, or by a group of persons, or out of selfish motives, or based on political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred) provide for imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.

Ilya Krasilshchik is the former editor-in-chief of Afisha, the former publisher of Meduza (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) and the former head of Yandex.Lavka. After the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, he left the country. The case against him was initiated in April 2022 for an Instagram post (owned by Meta, recognized as an extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) about the killings of civilians in Ukrainian Bucha. Immediately after that, the media manager announced his departure from Yandex. In July, he was put on the wanted list.
