Alexei Sigidaev, Director of the Health Department of the Kurgan Region, has dropped out of the race for the position of Deputy Governor for Social Policy. The candidacy of the official was not agreed upon in Moscow, sources close to the regional authorities told URA.RU.
“Sigidaev’s candidacy for the post of deputy governor was not approved in Moscow. Now procedures are underway to verify the documents of the former head of the Chamber of Control and Accounts (KSP) Natalya Kirilova, ”the sources said. Another insider from the political environment stressed that if it is agreed upon, then the social sector will face a redistribution of the procurement market. Large companies that have been regular suppliers may be pissed off from government money. Small organizations will have access to large contracts. “The order in the procurement of Kirilov, if he receives a post, will be directed by audits and financial audits. Procurement transparency will increase. They will become more efficient and competitive. This will save the budget without falling in the quality of supplies,” the source said.
On the sidelines, they also discussed that Elena Sitnikova (the head of Kurgan) and Elena Sitnikova (the head of the regional department of social protection of the population) are claiming the place of Larisa Kokorina. Previously, the agency sent editorial inquiries on candidates and the procedure for their approval. At the time of publication, no responses had been received.
URA.RU wrote that Kokorina, who has been deputy governor for social policy since September 2020, is resigning. According to the sources of the agency, the official was forced to leave by Sigidaev and his team. The confrontation between Kokorina and a former military doctor from St. Petersburg took place against the backdrop of scandals over the sale of property, the elimination of beds and, in general, hospital reform.
