In the Tyumen region, a criminal case of a Tyumen resident who registered 25 citizens of neighboring countries in his house was sent to court. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“The inquiry department of the Intermunicipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Tyumensky” sent a criminal case to the court against a resident of the Tyumen region. It was established that a man born in 1978 illegally registered 25 citizens of neighboring countries in his house from January to August 2023,” the department’s press service wrote on the official website.
According to representatives of the department, during the investigation of the case, the citizen admitted that he did not actually plan to provide his home for living to foreigners. Some of the migrants, in gratitude, helped the man build a house, and he helped others with registration, because they were his fellow countrymen.
The man is accused of committing 16 crimes, which are provided for in Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fictitious registration of foreign citizens at the place of stay in the Russian Federation”). The maximum penalty is imprisonment for up to three years. The criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to the Leninsky Magistrate Court of the city for consideration on the merits.
