The court sided with Musk in the case against Twitter

A court in the United States partially granted the secret petition of the American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk, who asked to transfer information from 22 more Twitter employees about the work of the platform, and ordered the company to provide Musk with data that was at the disposal of the former manager of one of the company’s divisions.

This was reported by the news portal Business Insider, citing sources.

According to the publication, Musk’s corresponding petition was secretly filed last week. August 15 judge Kathleen McCormick partially satisfied him by requiring Twitter to provide data held by the former chief consumer market officer Cavon Bakepur. Now Twitter must “collect, study and provide documents” of Beikpur. At the same time, the prosecution wanted to receive information not only from Bakpur, but also from a number of middle managers and less senior employees of the company.

According to Business Insider, Bakpour most likely had access to information and documents related to data on the analysis of bot activity on the social network.

In addition, the news portal writes that Musk’s lawyers have filed another new petition to force Twitter to provide additional documents on statistics on platform users and data collection and processing methods.

Keivon Bakpour joined Twitter in 2018, when he was Jack Dorsey. Bakpour left the company in May of this year, but as he noted on his Twitter page, it was not his decision.

In April, Musk wanted to buy Twitter and offered $44 billion for it, but then demanded to check the company’s data that the number of fake accounts used, among other things, to send spam, does not exceed 5%. Musk later notified the company that he was refusing to buy the social network, explaining this by exercising his right to terminate the agreement. According to Musk, the social network underestimated the number of false and spam accounts, and also did not provide the necessary information.

At the end of July, Twitter announced that shareholders of the social network at an extraordinary meeting on September 13 will vote on the sale of Musk in accordance with the agreement reached in April.

American company Twitter Inc. was founded in 2006. The main product of the company is a social network for exchanging short messages. The headquarters is located in San Francisco, California.
