The court sent RANEPA Rector Mau under house arrest until August 7

The Tverskoy Court of Moscow placed under house arrest the rector of the RANEPA, Vladimir Mau, who is accused of embezzling university funds. This is reported by a Life correspondent from the courtroom.

The preventive measure will be valid for one month and eight days – until August 7. Announcing the decision, Judge Ksenia Panova noted that the materials presented testify to the validity of the charges.

On the footage of their courtroom, published by the telegram channel SHOT, it is clear that after the verdict, the rector of the RANEPA is discussing something with a lawyer who covers his face with a folder. At the same time, in the materials held by the lawyer, there is a birth certificate for Mau’s daughter.

As Life already wrote, the detention of Vladimir Mau became known earlier. He is being accused in a criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale, which was previously initiated against former Deputy Minister of Education Marina Rakova, director of the Institute of Social Sciences of the RANEPA Sergey Zuev and other persons. Mau himself pleaded not guilty.
