The court changed the preventive measure for the head of the migration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug Oksana Semenova, who is suspected of receiving bribes. The official page of the Ugra courts on the social network VKontakte reported that the appeal reduced the period of her stay in custody by one day.

“The court of first instance decided to select a preventive measure in the form of detention until December 31, 2023, for the head of the migration department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. Due to the fact that the court of first instance committed violations of the criminal procedural law, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug court, on appeal, chose a preventive measure in the form of detention until December 30, 2023,” the publication states.

When choosing a preventive measure, the court took into account Semenova’s influence. When making a decision, the judge tried to prevent situations that would hinder further investigation: evasion of the accused from trial and investigation or pressure on witnesses.

Earlier, URA.RU wrote that the head of the migration department of the KhMAO police, Oksana Semenova, was suspected of receiving bribes for patronage and issuing patents to migrants. The FSB Office for the Tyumen Region joined the investigation.
