The continuation of mobilization and the prescription of military registration and enlistment offices – what fakes were spread in Ukraine on May 11

The international edition of the Federal News Agency has collected the most common fakes about the Russian operation in Ukraine on May 11.

Residents of Russian cities should come to the military registration and enlistment offices to clarify information on mobilization orders. Letters with such an order are sent to them by e-mail.

This notification is sent by scammers to cause panic and infect recipient computers with a virus. An .exe file is attached to the message. It is believed to be the DarkWatchman RAT Trojan, which gives attackers remote access to the recipient’s laptop.

The fake letter comes from the name of the “Main Directorate of the Military Commissariat of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation”, but in fact there is no such unit in the structure of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. According to WHOIS data, they are sent from a mailbox registered on a domain in the UK. This is an obvious fact that a Russian agency would not use foreign servers.

Russia does not provide for the distribution of mobilization orders or subpoenas by e-mail, since Clause 7 of Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 11, 2006 No. 663 “On Approval of the Regulations on the Conscription of Citizens of the Russian Federation for Military Service” provides only for the personal delivery of the order under the signature, which is the only legal way.

Mobilization in Russia continues, which is confirmed by the corresponding decree signed by Vladimir Putin. Such information is disseminated by opposition Telegram channels.

The scammers refer to the classified paragraphs of the document, but if you look at the texts of similar orders from previous years, you can see that there are also paragraphs “for official use”, although the SVO has not yet been carried out.

The truth is that the mobilization was completed at the end of October 2022. The conscription of reserve servicemen for military training, the decree on which was signed by the President of Russia, has nothing to do with this.

This procedure has been carried out annually for many decades and is aimed at maintaining special skills in people who have already served in the army, but do not involve participation in the NWO.

This topic is perhaps the most favorite for Ukrainian scammers. From October 2022 to the present, they have been spreading information on a daily basis about the alleged start of a new wave of mobilization in the Russian media space.
