The commander of the special forces “Akhmat” reported a sufficient amount of ammunition in the NVO zone

The commander of the Akhmat special forces, the deputy commander of the 2nd Army Corps, Apty Alaudinov, said that the Russian troops have enough ammunition for defense and offensive. Shortly before this, the founder of the private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced a shortage of shells in Bakhmut.

“There was never such a thing that there was always enough of everything in the war, there never will be. <...> To say that we have a supernatural amount of ammunition, we will not say about it, but enough so that we can firmly defend ourselves and still advance daily in the direction of the enemy. I think that this is quite enough,” Mr. Alaudinov told Rossiya 24 (quoted from TASS).

Evgeny Prigozhin the day before, May 5, announced that Wagner PMC would leave Bakhmut (Artemovsk) on May 10. According to him, according to the original plan, the PMC was supposed to take the city by May 9th. The businessman explained that his fighters could not take 2 square meters. km out of 45 sq. km due to shell hunger and high losses of personnel. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, then turned to Yevgeny Prigozhin, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov with an appeal to show mutual understanding and support each other in the process of fulfilling the tasks of the military operation.

On the same day, May 5, Mr. Shoigu inspected the equipment prepared for the special operation in the Southern Military District. On May 2, the minister announced that the army was receiving enough “ammunition to inflict fire damage on the enemy.”
