On the M-5 “Ural” in the Chelyabinsk region, a heavy truck with a herd of cows had to stay on the highway due to a snow storm. Firefighters helped the herd escape thirst, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region reported on December 1 to URA.RU.
“An urgent rescue operation to quench the thirst of the cows. Due to bad weather, movement in the region was temporarily limited, and 200 cows were left without water. Firefighters used a fire hose to fill the drinking bowls from a tanker truck,” the press service told URA.RU.
Restrictions on M-5 were lifted on the morning of December 1. They were introduced for heavy goods vehicles, taxis and buses from 29 November. The cause was a snow storm. Due to bad weather, 20 additional traffic police units in the region and the entire fleet of equipment of the Southern Ural Uprdor were taken to the highways in the region. Drivers were still asked to avoid long trips due to the high risk of accidents.
